The Michelin Guide 2016 surprised the entire world when it announced the entry of two Singaporean hawker stalls into its list. Being awarded a 1 Michelin star means a lot and even more when it's just a simple Hawker stall. Being the foodie in me, I was curious at what a 1 star Michelin dish could offer. So I decided to try the famous one in China town called LIAO FAN HONG KONG SOYA SAUCE CHICKEN RICE AND NOODLE. Much has changed since it got the award. The hawker stall now opens a full pledged restaurant at 78 Smith Street near the Chinatown MRT and now accepts card payments. Though, the price increased a bit it was deemed justifiable with all the upgrade that it underwent. Heard news about how crazy the lines could get here and true enough it didn't fail. Even on a weekday expect a long queue and waiting time for your orders to arrive. Waited mine for around 20 minutes after ordering. When my food came, everything looked so good. Check out the following dishes that I've tried: Soya Sauce Chicken Rice (SGD 3.8) This Soya Sauce Chicken is really something worth waiting. It had a tender and flavorful meat that's good enough to eat on its own. Wow, this is a really good value food for a meal. Char Siew Noodle (SGD 4.8) This is by far the best Char Siew Noodle dish that I've tried here. Undoubtedly, this is also my favorite dish in this place. The pork was also tender and flavorful. The noodle was cooked just right. Everything about this dish is worth every cent. Seasonal Vegetable (SGD 5) Wow, the side cost much more than the main dish. The serving is really huge though I am not a huge fan of this veggie. Luckily, I was impressed at my dining experience here at the World's Cheapest 1 Michelin star restaurant. The food here is really amazing. The quality of food that you'll get justifies the long wait that you'd have to endure. Hope that they would continue to serve the same quality even though they are starting to expand to cater more people. MENU:Cost per Person: Approximately around 7 SGD per person
