Ramadan is fast approaching, hotels and restaurants are now preparing for their Iftar Buffet Menu. One of which is Al Maeda Restaurant which is conveniently located at taste by Hilton which is around Jumeriah Beach Residences.
It was my first time to actually take part in an Iftar Food preview event. I didn't know what to expect from the food choices. When I arrived at the place, I was surprised at how extensive the choices are. It was just a small and simple buffet with a dozen of options to choose from.
In a nutshell, the buffet is pretty much divided into two parts. The long table is where you can find the salads, desserts, bread, and drinks. While the other side of the line mainly consists of the primary dishes that are being served at the buffet table. It is where the rice, soup, chicken, beef, and lamb are placed.
Among all the options, Undoubtedly the star of the main dishes were the Lamb Biryani, Roasted Beef, and Grilled Chicken.
I am a big fan of the roasted beef that was generously served and personally styled by the chef itself. It was cooked medium well and it was tender and juicy at every bite. The lamb biryani was also favored by Maizy Colleen saying that it was one of the best that she tasted.
Apart from Meats, the buffet also has extensive options for bread and salads. Some of which are even healthy and organic. Though one thing to improve is the limited option for juice which i remembered they only have 3 different choices.
After eating some mains, the buffet also serves a wide array of desserts. Cakes, Cream cheese, Arabic sweets, and tarts. My favorite dessert was the coconut tart, coffee mousse cake, raspberry cake, and hands down to the Mango Panacotta.
The raspberry cake didn't taste sour as what I would expect which is actually a good thing and the reason why I liked it. The coconut tart was actually hard to munch into because of it's hard texture but I love the taste of coconuts in my dessert. :D The mango pannacotta was mild in flavor but has the taste of mango in it. I was addicted to this dessert that I couldn't stop watching. :'D
Overall, I highly recommend all of you to try this place out during ramadan period. Their Iftar Menu is simple and delicious you will probably enjoy dining here leaving with a full stomach just like what we did. :D
