Tucked away from the bustling sound of the city is a 5-star Hotel that offers a remarkable view of the Dubai's skyline. Inside this majestic hotel lies a restaurant specializing in Turkish cuisine that offer an Iftar Buffet for the Ramadan season. Getting to the place is not a walk in the park. The prime location being at the far end part of the palm makes the whole duration of the trip long.
A la Turca is the name of the restaurant offering Turkish-inspired cuisines during Ramadan. While the options vary from International to Middle eastern food the place is quite popular for serving Turkish unique dishes as well. When we got to the place, It was jam packed with bloggers covering the event and as well as regular customers who patiently waited in line to try the place out.
The array of food options at the place is nothing but amazing. The quality of the food didn't disappoint as well. When you enter the Buffet area, you'll immediately see an ample variety of cheese to choose from.
A lot of variety of bread are also available.
They also have some dishes for their starter which would range from some steak with sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and some salads for those who are vegetarian. One thing I love about the veggies is how fresh and crispy it tasted.
The place also has a pasta section which gives you the liberty to choose your own type of pasta and if you prefer either red or white sauce. You can also choose the toppings/herbs that you wish to put in it. A rather scrumptious personalized meal for your liking.
The mains were quite simple and straightforward. There were lamb biryani, eggplant casserole, sea bass grilled, chicken curry and shawarma. Though there are a lot of options these were the one that caught my attention. Including here is a grilling station wherein you have to choose your meat and then grill it based on your own preference. Let me tell you that the meat is marinated well and tastes very good as well.
For some Turkish cuisines, there are a lot of cuisines being served at your table. For one, we tried the Turkish Pizza which was served in a flat bread and sprinkled with a generous amount of herbs and spices. This tasted wonderful. It was one of my favorite dishes.
Turkish noodles are also available which tasted quite a bit weird at first but later on I began to like the flavors. It was because they combined some tomato sauce with sour cream and the noodles were stuffed with some well-marinated meat. You can ask the chef to make it a bit spicier by adding some chili flakes on it.
Ottoman Candy is also available and will be a sure hit for your kids if you have one. The candy is made right in front of you and it contains real fruits and tasted very fruity. You can choose which flavors you want to put in. In front of this sweet treat are choices of fresh and juicy fruits.
Turkis Ice cream is also available. They serve three different flavors but the winner was the pistachio ice cream. They also serve it with a show so prepare to be entertained as well.
Lastly, the best part of the buffet is probably the dessert which is probably the main highlight of the place. It's just surrounded by sweets everywhere you look. It had various choices from Arabic sweets up to mouthwatering cakes and pastries. I Love the chocolate moist cake as it tastes very rich. They also have a pretty good selection of fresh and sweet fruits which is perfect after the heavy meal.
Overall, dining at Rixos the palm for an Iftar meal is one good choice. You get to enjoy good food with an amazing view and the service of the staff is top notch. I never had any problem all throughout my experience at the place. I highly recommend all of you to break your fast here. :D
