When we talk about comfort food, One thing that surely everyone knows is this classic dish which originated in Germany. Here in Dubai, a growing hole in the wall restaurant located at Dubai Marina is slowly gaining popularity for serving such tasty and mouthwatering comfort food.
The way I see it, It's served in a way similar at how they serve hot dogs in America. Their menu is quite straightforward. They only serve two types of meat. It's Angus Beef or Chicken Hotdog. Gladly, I managed to try both types of meat.
The place has an average size that is able to cater an ample amount of people. They have an indoor and outdoor seating which was very relaxing.
We started off with some appetizers/side dishes, everything was cooked fresh and hot. All items are a very good pair of the mains which makes kinda hard to decide. But, eventually, I managed to make up my mind and ordered the following:
Onion Rings - Freshly cooked and properly coated. Every time you grab a bite you will definitely feel and hear the crunch. I am a big fan of onion rings and this one does not disappoint. Curly Fries - This is not an ordinary fries. It's marinated with a peppery coating that bursts with flavor. It actually tasted like the philippine version of KFC fries which was highly addicting.
Jalapeno Poppers - Deeply Fried perfectly coated Jalapeno with melted cheese inside.
I love how every bite is amazingly good. The cheese is literally overflowing and the combination of that spicy and creamy cheese is just too good to put to waste.
For their hot dogs, they currently have three signature dishes but they also want to give you the liberty to make your own hot dog and stuff it with all sorts of toppings. You can also opt to make every dish a meal and enjoy an additional Bean/Coleslaw salad, fries, and some soft drink/lemonade.
Cheese Coney - Secret recipe chili, white onions, and shredded cheddar cheese.
Monster - Tomatoes, pickles, green onions, potato sticks, beet root, jalapeno, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise.
The Mexican - Guacamole, salsa sauce, jalapeno, sour cream, nachos, and shredded cheese.
Who could have thought that nachos and a hot dog would be a wonderful pair? This is my favorite of all three. Their guacamole is very delicious and fresh. I love how they preserve the Mexican taste of the dish. The nachos added an interesting crunch on it. This is a must try. The fun part comes into picture when you get to name the dish that you personally created. The Hungry Hotdog - tomatoes, caramelized onions, nachos, pineapple, shredded cheddar cheese, white onions, jalapenos, and sour cream. So basically, I just stuffed it with toppings that I was currently craving and the taste did not disappoint. Everything was just so fresh and tasty.
For their desserts, I only have my eyes on one thing. CHURROS!!!! It was perfectly deep fried and sprinkled with the right amount of cinnamon and sugar served with a cup of caramel and chocolate sauce. Gladly, this dish didn't disappoint. It actually exceeded my expectation. A very good order to finish off your meal.
It may be too early to tell but I believe I found the best hot dog place in the city. My personal favorite will be the Angus Beef Hot dog. It is much tastier and soft that the chicken hot dog. So, If you want something that won't disappoint just trust me and go get the Angus one.
Overall, I really love how The Hot Dog Stand uses fresh ingredients and cooks everything spot on making it so crunchy and tasty. I see a lot of potential in this restaurant. I highly encourage all of you to try this place out. The prices of their dishes are super affordable and you will really get an excellent worth of your money.
