Serving Belgian waffle dishes with a unique twist is a staple remark about No. 3. This small yet cool and warm restaurant has a perfect ambiance for enjoying good food with good friends. It is located at Al Safa in Box Park, Dubai.

Having two worlds under one roof, that is how you would probably describe a gastronomic experience at Bertin Bistro and Andalusia Restaurant. Located in Al Manara at Sheikh Zayed Road, the place is housed in a 2-storey building where each floor serves different palatable cuisines to explore.
One thing to note about is that you need to hail a taxi to reach this place. There is a cheaper option which is to alight at Noor Bank Metro Station and have a long walk or from there you can ride a taxi. If you have been to Jones the Grocer, then you can easily spot the place out since both are just neighbours. If someone would ask me for a great, decent, and satisfying Italian restaurant around the city, the first thing that would probably cross my mind is Per Te. Though there is a dozen of Italian restaurants around the corner but for some reason, this luxurious fine dining themed restaurant easily captivated my taste buds. Per Te already has two branches in Dubai. There is one in Business bay area and another one which is their first branch is located behind Jumeirah Plaza. For our food tasting session, the event was held at the latter. The place was very easy to fall in love with. It has a warm and laid back atmosphere perfect for a private dinner with friends/family.
It was a zomato meetup kind of day and it was one event that I simply couldn't miss. An avenue for me to meet and greet other foodies. Upon arriving, the staff was kind enough to serve us some juice which was simply refreshing. While waiting for some food, they were kind enough to offer some bread platter.
Bread Platter - Focaccia Alla Pugliese served with sundried tomatoes, basil pesto, and arrabbiata sauce.
This spongy cake was a very good snack to munch on and is best when you put in some toppings. I love mine with sundried tomatoes/ basil pesto.
Then after a few minutes came the Antipasti(starers). We were served with the following dishes: Burrata con pomodorini - Fresh creamy burrata cheese, roasted vine cherry tomatoes, semidried cherry tomatoes, fresh vine cherry tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil leave.
One thing I love the most about Italian food is this staple burrata dish and Per Te had one of the best burrata that I have ever tried.
Carpaccio di manzo al tartufo - Thinly sliced beef tenderloin with truffle carpaccio, rocket and parmesan cheese.
The thinly sliced beef with truffle oil was a good dish to try. It was something new which made the taste a bit weird at first bite..
Tartare di tonno al frutto della passione - Tuna tartare with passion fruit.
Thin slices of fresh raw tuna shaped perfectly and smothered with passion fruit juice on the side. It initially tasted a bit weird considering the tuna was still raw but eventually, I began to love the dish.
Sacchetti di bresaola con caprino - bresaola money bags stuffed with goat cheese, pine nuts, black raisins, and fresh figs.
Stuffed meat slices shaped into money bags. I didn't quite like this dish. It tasted weird for me maybe because I don't really like raisins.
Gamberi e calamari fritti con sale e pepe - Fried calamari and prawns served with rock salt, crushed pepper, lemon, and pesto mayonnaise.
This is probably the best starter dish in the menu. The calamari and prawns were marinated very tasty. The meat was very soft and juicy and it never failed to make every bite count. A must try. :D
Bruschetta con stracciatellae tartufo nero -Bruschetta with Stracciatella and black truffle.
.My next favorite starter dish is this one. It may look a little bit of weird but devouring everything in a single bite was enough to taste all the flavors merging to a single taste that is easy to fall in love with. A must try.
The starters were generally good, some of which could even pass to mains. I like how the starters were artistically presented and conceptualized. There was art in every angle. Next thing that came were the main dishes. MAINS:
Risotto con asparagi gamberi rossi carpaccio e bottarga - rissotto with asparagus, red prawns carpaccio and bottarga.
Another staple dish that is hard to not like is risotto and this version of per Te is a very good option. The prawn was huge and the texture of the risotto was excellent. Definitely, a must try dish.
Galletto con fregola e mascarpone - Baby chicken with fregola, wild mushrooms, potatoes, broccoli, cherry tomatoes and mascarpone cheese.
These baby chicken slices were nothing out of the ordinary. The meat tasted bland and there was not enough flavor to make it memorable.
Orecchiette con ragu di agnello e stracciatella - Typical Italian ear-shaped pasta with slow cook cube lamb ragu, mushroom, and cherry tomatoes and Stracciatella cheese.
This pasta is one of the best things I've tried. When it comes to pasta, I am a big fan of red sauce and a number of herbs and spices made it excellent.
Strozzapretti con Funghi selvatici e Tartufo - Strozzapretti with wild mushroom and truffle.
Another pasta dish but in white sauce version, the taste was simple with mushroom and truffles to enhance the taste. It was good but not as good as the first pasta we tried.
The mains were at the average. Some dishes were good some were ordinary but the risotto was the best thing ever. After some time, desserts were served at our table which was the next best thing in a full meal. DESSERTS:
Lieto - 75% cocoa smooth and shiny chocolate brick with roasted nuts, orange sweet zest, creamy coffee sauce, served with passion fruit semifreddo.
We were tasked to design our own version of this dessert. I suck at making my own theme hence the output. Though the whole process was fun, I didn't quite like the taste of this dish. It was plain and boring.
Fondente al cioccolato - Hot dark coca chocolate fondant served with vanilla ice cream.
The dark chocolate fondant was not that great but the vanilla ice cream was tasty and creamy. I find the dish too sweet for me.
Tiramisu - A classic Italian dessert with mascarpone cheese, strong espresso coffee, and savoiardi biscuits, dusted with cocoa.
Your classic tiramisu dessert which is made with coffee and cocoa. You probably won't need a cup of coffee to get your caffeine fix. This dessert is enough. The dish is actually pretty good. I love the presentation and the taste.
Semifreddo - Homemade class of creamy semi-frozen dessert with vanilla, mix berries, and creamy balsamic.
Hands down to the best dessert dish served at Per Te. The presentation of this dish is outstanding and the taste is truly remarkable and unique. A must try in the dessert section. It isn't that sweet and the burnt caramel taste was so good.
Overall, I love the food served. This place is certainly a haven for Italian food. The word Per Te will definitely be an option for the best tasting Italian cuisine around the city. Two thumbs up for the food and presentation. |
