When you talk about cafes, Dubai can probably rally a long list of options to choose from. It's not a surprise since a lot has been popping out of nowhere in the city. Just a simple navigation using a zomato app and pop goes the list of your probable breakfast/caffeine fix. Most of the best cafes we probably know are situated right in the heart of the city but being the best doesn't really require a central location. A rather average-sized cafe located at Motor City has earned a lot of noise from its customers due to its warm and cozy setting not to mention the use of purely organic ingredients to create such succulent dishes. This cafe that I'm talking about is named Nathalie's Cafe. It is located right beside Fit Republik. I had a wonderful time meeting a fellow Instagrammer Abeer together with my usual foodie companion Maizy Colleen. To start with, the interiors of the place is very minimal and relaxing. The interiors are something to look forward to. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Now lets head over to the Menu, As usual, we first ordered some Cappuccino, Flat White, and Hot Chocolate. Obviously, I opted for the Hot Choco. The taste of their Hot Choco is just the usual. It didn't quite compete with Caffe Nero or that of Angelina's Cafe. But the Cappuccino and Flat White was a good choice for my companions. We arrived a bit late that time, so we decided to have some brunch and what better way to enjoy it is by sampling the best of both worlds. BREAKFAST:Berry Smoothie Bowl (AED 38) - Raspberries, blueberries, chia seeds, almond milk, honey, and maca topped with gluten free granola, bananas, and strawberries. At first bite and yes you can taste the berries exploding in your taste buds. This is one of my favorite Acai Bowl food that I ever had. This is a must try. Sam's Eggs (AED 38) - Grilled Halloumi, sunny side up eggs, a sprinkle of zaatar and multi-seed toast. This one didn't quite turn out to what we were expecting. The Eggs were cooked well done which we expected it to be done a bit medium. Among all our orders this was my least favorite. Eggs Benedict (AED 45) - Toasted English muffins, lean turkey, poached eggs & hollandaise. The eggs in this dish was perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce was very thick and creamy. I love the presentation of this dish plus the taste was pretty good as well. Adobo Chicken Quesadilla (AED 34) - Chicken Quesadilla served with a side of jalapenos, guacamole, and salsa. One of the best dish in my opinion. I love how they were creative enough to make Quesadilla out of chicken adobo. It was stuffed with a generous amount of cheese plus everything is better with guacamole on it. Trust me the guacamole is that good. :D MAINS:The Portobello Burger (AED 65) - 80/20 Angus Beef Patty, cheddar & grilled onions served on mushroom buns with a side of tomatoes, pickles, and lettuce. I was a bit skeptical about this dish. It was unusual to try a burger wherein they replaced a bun with a mushroom. My main dilemma is that it's hard to eat. Though the meat was cooked well with all the cheese and vegetables, I still prefer my burger to have buns. Grilled Fish Fillet on Sweet Potato Mash (AED 85) - served with sauteed vegetables and a dill cream sauce. I can't quite forget how I truly enjoyed this dish. Everything about it was amazing. From the curated presentation up to the taste. The Sweet Potato Mash was so creamy and tasty. The fish was fresh and delicious. Slow Roasted Baby Lamb Shank (AED 85) - a huge Lamb shank sitting on a bed of Mashed Potatoes and french beans, drizzled with green peppercorn sauce. Hands down to the best dish that I have tried here. This was my personal favorite among all the dishes that we've tried. The lamb shank was so soft and the mashed potato was the best pair it can ever have. The sauce gave a bit of kick which I love. DESSERT:At that moment, We were already full so we decided to just go have some Smoothies. We ordered the following: Monkey Business (AED 32) - Almond Milk, peanut butter, bananas, honey, sea salt, and vanilla protein topped with granola. My favorite among all the smoothies we tried. It had a unique but rather satisfying peanut butter and banana taste. The Nutella Shake (AED 32) - Almond Milk, Nutella, bananas, toasted hazelnuts, and vanilla protein topped with granola. Had this one and was happy to enjoy the taste of Nutella in my smoothie. Avocado Smoothie (AED 32) - Avocado, bananas, almond milk and honey. Fresh Avocado and Banana makes a pretty good combination. The fresh fruits were addicting. Nathalie's Cafe is set to open another branch near the downtown area. With its amazing food and cool vibe, It'll surely be one cafe that will not miss a spot to consider. For the meantime do visit them at Motor City. We had a lovely time and I'm more than definite that if you'll try this place out you'll have one too. :D

Hotels all around Dubai are getting ready for Ramadan. Recently, I was invited for a tasting preview of their Iftar menu. After that, another invite came. This second restaurant is called Brasserie 2.0 which is located at Le Royal Meridien Dubai. This time, I came with my friends Maizy Colleen and Hannah Magsayo for a quick get together while enjoying some of their food buffet.
Ramadan is fast approaching, hotels and restaurants are now preparing for their Iftar Buffet Menu. One of which is Al Maeda Restaurant which is conveniently located at taste by Hilton which is around Jumeriah Beach Residences.
It was my first time to actually take part in an Iftar Food preview event. I didn't know what to expect from the food choices. When I arrived at the place, I was surprised at how extensive the choices are. It was just a small and simple buffet with a dozen of options to choose from. |
