Icons Coffee Couture is a German lifestyle coffee chain that focuses on making organic coffee and tea. This healthy coffee shop is dedicated in pursuing its goal to serve food and coffee which are sourced from the word ORGANIC. Famous not only for their coffee, This chic cafe also serves sugar-free desserts and ice cream.
It is conveniently located near the World Trade Center Metro Station and is easily accessible via foot. The place inside is pretty wide and dark. It has the setup of a coffee shop and has a quiet ambiance perfect for studying or some alone time.
I initially planned to have a mini food tasting session since I thought that all they have to offer is a cup of coffee and some bread to pair it with but when I saw their menu I already knew I was wrong. One thing that I love about the food is the fact that almost everything is organic. They have an ice cream that's guaranteed to have no sugar in it. They actually use a natural sweetener such as Dates and Stevia for a zero-calorie alternative.
MENU:
We were very excited to sample their best organic dishes and basically here were the dishes we had at this place:
This is a dessert that we created by just mix and matching some of their pastries. This is made up of a stack of cookie, brownie, and topped off with a scoop of berry ice cream and sprinkled with some chocolate shaves.
Another personalized dessert that we made is this beetroot muffin that's topped off with some mocha ice cream and designed with pretzel on the sides.
One of their MUST TRY pastry is the CROISSANT. If you think that's enough then you're definitely wrong. This sweet dish is filled with chocolate ice cream inside. Truly a wonderful dish that's worth every carbs.
We also tasted some of their cakes. At first, I love how the cake taste but at some point all of them were too sweet to handle. It should have a kick of saltiness or bitterness in it just to reset ones palette.
DRINKS:
For some hot beverage, we tried some Cappuccino. Tasted pretty good for a coffee but the caffeine is too strong for me. Im not a coffee person so it's not really their fault.
For the Cold Beverage, We had some Ice Cream Chocolate Frappe. This one is rich in flavor and has a pretty good taste.
We ended our tasting with some Moroccan Mint Tea. This is just the best way to properly end a very full meal. I love the taste of the tea and how they time it properly for it not to be overcooked.
I personally enjoyed dining at this organic inspired coffee shop. This is a promising concept that would surely pick up in the near future. It would need to introduce some more unique and innovative dishes but sticking to organic ingredients and results would definitely be a keeper.
